Smiles all round
As you’ve no doubt realised if you’ve been anywhere near the internet over the past few hours, the big story doing the rounds in the Nintendo-sphere at the moment is PlatinumGames’ recent The Wonderful 101 Kickstarter campaign.
The crowdfunding effort has seen immediate success, smashing its goals to confirm the release of a remastered version of the Wii U game on Switch, PS4 and Steam. It’s already amassed way over $1 million in funding, too.
That number also happens to convert to a total over 100 million yen, and the team at PlatinumGames filmed the exact moment that mighty figure was reached. In a tweet, the studio has given “tremendous thanks” to backers – and there’s even an appearance from Twitter-blocking Kickstarter tier star Hideki Kamiya himself.
Amazing stuff.
