PUBG Mobile is getting a 90fps mode, and it is coming to OnePlus phones first. The feature is debuting on OnePlus phones exclusively for a month — from August 6 to September 6 — before it makes its way to other devices. The 90fps mode is available in most markets, barring users in Mainland China, Japan, and Korea.
You’ll be able to play PUBG Mobile at 90fps on devices that were introduced in the last 15 months, including the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro, OnePlus 8, and OnePlus 8 Pro. Curiously, the OnePlus Nord is missing from the list even though the phone has a 90Hz AMOLED display, and it is possible OnePlus wanted to limit the mode to its flagships. From OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau:
OnePlus is very close with our community of tech enthusiasts, so we know that mobile gamers are looking for a more immersive and smoother experience. That’s exactly what we are delivering with this exclusive 90 FPS experience with PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most downloaded mobile games
We will continue pushing mobile gaming to new levels through our industry-leading displays, powerful performance, and fast and smooth overall user experience.
OnePlus nabbed early access to Fortnite at 90fps as well earlier this year. While it’s a shame that Nord users are missing out on early access to PUBG Mobile at 90fps, the feature should be available in a month’s time.
